A little history

If the history in Baltimore county won’t give you goose bumps I’m not sure what will. Brilliance and perseverance has graced Baltimore County for centuries, both man and beast have overcome extreme circumstances and inspired generations.

Grab the reins and tour the majestic beauty of northern Baltimore County’s landscape in equestrian style. Home to more than 9,000 horses and world class equestrian events dating back to the first Maryland Cup in 1894.

Historic figure, Benjamin Banneker, a self taught mathematician and astronomer was appointed by President George Washington to survey the new capital of the United States, Washington DC.

Seabiscuit defied the odds and captured the world's attention in 1938. A horse capturing the world's attention alongside President Roosevelt and Adolf Hitler making news, the crooked legged racehorse became an American Legend. National Geographic’s Stefan Lovgren called Seabiscuit “the equine Cinderella” in his article From Nag to Riches: The story of Seabiscuit . The Historic 1938 Match Race took place at Pimlico, Home of the Preakness.

World class sports figures, Brooks Robinson, Johnny Unitas, Cal Ripken Sr., Cal Ripken Jr., Pam Shriver, Michael Phelps, the list goes on.

Other notable people: Vice President Spiro Agnew,  film maker John Waters, TV personalities Mike Rowe,Jim McKay, comedian and actress Mo’Nique.
