Baltimore County Public Schools  are ranked eleventh of 25 districts.  The ratio of students per teacher is 14.5:1 and the county spends $12,939 per student (National Average $10,591). The Public School system is the third largest in the state with 105 Elementary Schools, 27 Middle Schools, 25 High Schools serving  108,191+ students pre-K through 12.  In addition, there are 143 private schools,  Baltimore County Career and Technical Education offers students a variety of fields.  College offerings in Baltimore County include: Community College of Baltimore County, Goucher College, Stevenson University,Towson University and University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Recreation & Culture

The ultimate outdoor experience is offered right here in Maryland! Our climate of  four seasons allows for activities to please everyone. Baltimore County has: miles of hiking and biking on the NCR Trail and 6,900 acres of parkland to explore, ultimate water sports, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, swimming, fishing, camping, golf, horseback riding and a Hot Air Balloon Festival! That’s enough recreation opportunities to keep any group entertained and I haven’t mentioned the fairs and festivals !


Baltimore County offers cultural experiences including gourmet food, unique shopping in Hunt Valley, Towson, White Marsh. Theater, Bengies drive-in theater, local wineries,  Historical American sites and museums: The Fire Museum of Maryland,The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum and The Ballestone-Stansbury House.

A little history

If the history in Baltimore county won’t give you goose bumps I’m not sure what will. Brilliance and perseverance has graced Baltimore County for centuries, both man and beast have overcome extreme circumstances and inspired generations.


Grab the reins and tour the majestic beauty of northern Baltimore County’s landscape in equestrian style. Home to more than 9,000 horses and world class equestrian events dating back to the first Maryland Cup in 1894.

Historic figure, Benjamin Banneker, a self taught mathematician and astronomer was appointed by President George Washington to survey the new capital of the United States, Washington DC.

Seabiscuit defied the odds and captured the world's attention in 1938. A horse capturing the world's attention alongside President Roosevelt and Adolf Hitler making news, the crooked legged racehorse became an American Legend. National Geographic’s Stefan Lovgren called Seabiscuit “the equine Cinderella” in his article From Nag to Riches: The story of Seabiscuit . The Historic 1938 Match Race took place at Pimlico, Home of the Preakness.

World class sports figures, Brooks Robinson, Johnny Unitas, Cal Ripken Sr., Cal Ripken Jr., Pam Shriver, Michael Phelps, the list goes on.
