The 5 things you’re most thankful for.

You’re most thankful.

OK....  7 things you’re I am most thankful for that impact your business on a daily basis.

Hubby & me#1 Hubby. Everyday I have the support of my loving husband, Chris. He is my best friend, the one person I can always count on. There wouldn't be a real estate business without him. My plans to start out slow were derailed by an employer whose policies changed. 2008 was a tough year to go all in with real estate. Thanks to Chris, we managed to stay afloat.

#2 Clients. Without clients who choose to entrust me with the biggest financial investment of their lives, there would be no business. My career is is woven together with the memories of each client I have worked with. Clients are the threads of gold in a highly stressful and competitive profession during a historically challenging time.

#3 GPS. According to a PC Magazine article, the U.S. Department of Defense had the GPS military predecessor, TRANSIT, up and running in the 60’s. The general public was able to purchase GPS navigation systems in 2000 just 15 years ago. Being geographically challenged would have taken much longer to overcome without my GPS. I can't imagine plotting a showing tour using my ADC map book. I have great admiration for agents who did.

#4 Dual monitors. Dad gave me a second monitor years ago for a Christmas gift. I thought dual monitors were for high powered executives, not a small business, entrepreneur like me. Now, I can't imagine working with only one screen. It would be like walking around with one boot, it can be done but it's uncomfortable.

Two monitors

#5 Education. My opinion on professional education will surely ruffle feathers. I don't believe licensing and quick start programs, and 15 hours every 2  years are enough to protect the public's best interest. Some industry professionals say the elective education is fluff and not much more than money making schemes. The best money I have spent in real estate has been in the area of education.

#6 Me. The most important and valuable tool at my disposal, that I use everyday is me. I am the engine, the courage, the determination that makes my business go. I am also my biggest obstacle. Second guessing, worrying over the uncontrollable parts of business, the ebbs and flows. Everyday I wake up, put my feet on the floor and keep pushing toward success.

#7 ActiveRain. ActiveRain is a touchstone community. Much like the true friend you can always call upon, ActiveRain introduced me to true professionals who were willing to help through support, guidance and genuine friendship.

I am thankful and blessed to have all the treasured tools and people that I count on in my daily business activities.

Thanks Happy Grasshopper for asking about my 5, I mean,  7 things you’re most thankful for that impact your business on a daily basis.

Diane - Okay, so you added two extra things you are thankful for, but I can understand why.

By the way - I think having dual monitors would be great, but I mostly work on a laptop.
