Home Office for the holidays. Manchester, MD

Home Office for the holidays.

Ralph & Pearl Morgan Christmas 1960Helen Keller said “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.” That’s what Christmas is about, love.

This holiday season, starting before Thanksgiving, has been difficult. My Dad passed away 10/30/2015. We have been expecting it for a while but, you can not prepare to lose a treasure in your life and my Dad is a treasure to those who knew him.

It’s an odd feeling, somewhat hollow to have both your parents gone. I feel like an orphan with a hole in my heart. Here’s a photo of them in front of our Christmas tree in the 60’s.

Anyway, my family, Chris, Mike, Cole and Claire, thought I did not want to decorate the house for Christmas because of losing my Dad. I didn’t honestly, however, I wasn’t going to put my emotions ahead of the family joy at Christmas. My children are grown and mostly self sufficient, that doesn't matter, I still want them to have a nice Christmas with lights, cookies, a few gifts and most of all joy and love.

Tuesday morning while I attended an  Education Committee meeting at my local 2015 Christmas Home Officeboard or REALTORS® Chris & Claire took it upon themselves to decorated our house for Christmas. It started at the door with one of my snowmen smiling back at me when I came in the door. The mantel was lit with lights and the stockings were hung. More snowmen dotted the family room and on my desk in my home office was my own little tree, Snoopy and a special client photo I received this year. My heart break was healed a little more by their sweet gesture and hard work. Christmas will be a joy this year.  My Mom & Dad will be remembered always. I think of them everyday.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for sharing this post, love the picture.  We always tend to look ahead, but I like this time of year as we also focus/reflect on past and folks that are/have been in our life.  Happy holidays, and thanks for sharing.

You took your eyes from your father.  Try to look at it this way they are still around perhaps in another world until you can join them.

Try to make the most out of yourself and accomplish things or projects on your to do list.

Thanks for sharing

Sam Shueh  I've never heard that before, everyone says I look like mom (that's not a bad thing) so thank you for that. I too believe they are with me. Thank you for your kind words.
